A garage sale like no other is taking place this weekend with funds going towards pets in need.
The Casper Humane Society’s bi-annual garage sale kicked off Saturday.
Although the due date has passed for donations humane society staff says you can still shop to support the animals.
Everything from jewelry, clothes and art are being sold at this year’s bi-annual Casper Humane Society garage sale.
Humane Society staff has been taking donations for nearly a month.
Residents have been flowing through their doors and packing a full house.
“We’ve got the building completely full and we just have a little bit of everything. If we don’t have it you probably don’t need it” says Sally Reinhart with Casper Humane Society.
Reinhart also says the garage sale fundraiser is important for the pets.
“We don’t put any animals down so sometimes we have them with us for quite a while and it takes money to do that.”
She adds it does well each time the garage sale is hosted.
“Usually we average about $25,000 to $30,000 on these so takes care of the shelter for a good month. So it’s good fundraiser for us.”
Casper resident Karel Mathisen feels proud to donate and help the animals find good homes.
“I come here every time they have one of these garage sales because I believe in what we’re doing. I believe what they’re doing. I support the Humane Society. I have always supported the Humane Society” and says she donates items every time to support the cause.
“Quite a few times every time I clean out my garage my stuff comes here.”
The garage sale is being held at 1743 East Yellowstone Avenue and ends on Sunday.
